Just weeks before Christmas, Bridget and Cameron made plans to elope in one of their favorite mountain towns during one of their favorite celebrations. Every December, the town of Breckenridge, Colorado hosts an annual dog parade, where Bernese Mountain Dogs are the stars but every breed is welcome. Bridget and Cameron thought this would be the perfect weekend to elope, so they booked a mountain house Airbnb with their closest friends, family and fur babies to celebrate.
Getting Ready
Though this was an intimate gathering, the details were still so personalized and amazing. Each dog got a custom bracelet with their name on it, the larger pups got custom bow collars and every guest got a goodie bag. The girls all had matching sweatsuits; cutest winter bridesmaids gifts I have seen in a while. Bridget chose an elegant gown with floral accents on the bodice and a simple updo. As requested, I got a few getting ready and detail shots, but the focus was going to be on the rest of the day.
Ceremony
Bridget & Cameron didn’t even leave their Airbnb all day. The ceremony was held on the balcony overlooking the mountains with family and friends surrounding them. Their dogs got a front row to the ceremony and got to stand on their mom’s dress. The dogs getting muddy pawprints on her dress was EXACTLY what Bridget wanted out of her day. She wore custom dog socks from her last dog who passed away to commemorate her everlasting love for that fur baby.
Celebration
After a short and sweet ceremony, no time was spared to celebrate the elopement! A shotski was brought out and everyone got to take a turn. Everyone gathered to toast the couple and I was lucky enough to be thanked in the toast given by the mother of the bride. Moments like these are exactly why I do what I do!
