The Best Engagement Photo Locations in Front Range colorado

Colorado’s Front Range is packed with stunning engagement photo locations. From dramatic foothills to mountain overlooks and quiet forest trails, you don’t have to travel deep into the mountains to get some amazing scenery. If you’re looking for a spot that feels natural, adventurous, and true to your relationship, these 5 Front Range locations never disappoint.

Colorado Engagement Photo Location 1:

Morrison

One of my all-time favorite Front range locations lies just outside of the town of Morrison, Colorado. Lair o’ the Bear Park is a cute walkable park with a quiet river running through it, and plenty of open fields. Parking tends to fill up quickly in the morning hours, so sunrise shoots tend to be my favorite – the way the sun comes through the trees is just STUNNING! You do need a permit to take engagement photos, and can be found here.

Colorado Engagement Photo Location 2:

Boulder

There are plenty of amazing spots in Boulder to take engagement photos. My personal favorite is at Flatirons Vista Trail. Just a short walk from the parking lot to an open field and gorgeous views of the flatirons. There is minimal tree cover, so this location is great for early mornings, late afternoons and cloudy days. Permit is needed to photograph at this location and can be found here.

Colorado Engagement Photo Location 3:

Erie

Another hidden gem is Lake Erie. Located in the town of Erie and accessible by parking lot, this location is great because you can walk all the way around the lake and soak in the views. Permit needs vary here, so looking at Erie’s permit website is a good idea!

Colorado Engagement Photo Location 4:

Golden

Clear Creek Canyon Park is nestled in the canyons outside of Golden, Colorado and follows the Clear Creek River. There are multiple access points to get down to the river and also a good walking path along epic rock faces. My favorite feature is the iron bridge that allows you to cross over the river to get to the pathway. A permit is needed to photograph at this location and can be found here.

Colorado Engagement Photo Location 5:

Evergreen

One of my favorite spots is Echo Lake Park and the surrounding areas. A winding road leads you through the Evergreen mountains with a few great spots to pull over and snap some photos. As you come down the mountain, Echo Lake Park is a cute lake that has a small walking trail around three quarters of it. It is a popular spot for fishing, so be prepared for some fishermen in the background! A photo permit is needed to photograph at Echo Lake Park and the surrounding areas in Evergreen, and can be found here.
